Why we brought this out of the archives: In Liberty’s early years, weekends were often spent wandering antique stores, paper shows, and dusty shops in search of forgotten artwork. During one of those treasure hunts, owner Sage Wirth discovered a collection of original fruit crate labels in an antique store in Casper, Wyoming. Their bold colors and beautiful illustrations immediately stood out, and we selected the strongest nine to create a single vibrant collage. The result became one of the most popular puzzles in Liberty’s first catalog, released in the winter of 2005. It also captures something that has always been part of Liberty’s DNA: the thrill of hunting for forgotten artwork and giving it new life.
